1. General betting principles
These rules apply to bets placed through the Shuffle Casino platform where betting products are made available. Rules shown on a specific betting market, event or promotion may contain additional requirements. If there is an inconsistency between these general rules and a specific market rule, the more specific rule will generally apply to that market.
By opening an account or placing a bet, you confirm that you have read and understood the applicable rules and agree to follow them. You are responsible for checking the details of a bet before submitting it and for making sure that betting is permitted where you are located. Betting should only be undertaken by adults who are legally permitted to gamble in Australia and in their relevant state or territory.
You must use your own account and provide information that is accurate, complete and current. An account must not be used by another person, and you must not allow anyone else to access your login details, payment methods or betting activity. We may request information to verify identity, age, account ownership or compliance with applicable requirements before accepting or settling bets.
- Only one person may use an individual account unless expressly permitted under the applicable account terms.
- You must keep your username, password and other security information confidential.
- You must not place bets on behalf of another person or allow another person to place bets through your account.
- You must not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, money laundering, collusion or any other improper purpose.
- You must review your account activity and notify us through the available support process if you believe that a bet or transaction was made without your permission.
- You remain responsible for bets placed using your account until the matter is reviewed under the applicable security and account procedures.
Availability of betting markets
Markets, events, bet types and features may vary by location, product, device, account status and other operational or legal requirements. A market may be suspended, removed or changed before an event starts or while an event is in progress. The display of a market does not guarantee that a bet will be accepted, and a market may be unavailable at the time you attempt to submit a bet.
2. Placing and accepting bets
A bet is submitted by selecting the desired market and outcome, entering the stake where required, reviewing the bet details and confirming the wager. Before confirming, you should check the event, market, selection, odds, stake, potential return and any applicable conditions. Once submitted, a bet may not be changed or cancelled unless the relevant rules or an available account feature expressly allow it.
A bet is not accepted merely because it has been selected or appears in a bet slip. Acceptance occurs only when the platform confirms the bet. The confirmation should be retained for your records. If a bet is rejected, interrupted or not confirmed, you should check your account history before attempting to place it again. This helps avoid accidental duplicate bets.
Displayed odds and other bet information may change before acceptance. Where a price, line, handicap, total or other market condition changes, the platform may offer the changed terms for your confirmation, reject the bet or process it under the applicable market rules. The accepted bet record is the reference point for settlement.
- A bet may be refused or restricted for legal, technical, security, integrity, account or operational reasons.
- Minimum and maximum stakes may apply and can vary between markets, products and account circumstances.
- The possible return shown before confirmation is an indication based on the displayed terms and may not include every applicable condition.
- A bet placed after a market has closed, or after a relevant result or material event has occurred, may be rejected or voided.
- Where a market is offered in-play, delays in the transmission of information may mean that displayed scores, times or prices are not current.
- If the same bet is submitted more than once because of a connection or display problem, each confirmed bet may be treated as a separate wager.
- Cash-out or early settlement features may be offered for some bets, but availability is not guaranteed and an attempted cash-out is not complete until confirmed.
Errors and technical issues
We take reasonable steps to keep betting information accurate, but technical faults, communication delays, data errors, human mistakes or other issues may occur. If a bet is accepted using an obvious error in odds, a market description, a line, a settlement term or another material detail, the bet may be reviewed and corrected or voided in accordance with the applicable rules.
An obvious error may include a price or term that is clearly inconsistent with the normal market, a duplicated selection, an incorrect event time, a market displayed after it should have closed, or information that is materially wrong. If an error affects an accepted bet, any adjustment will be made fairly and consistently with the relevant rules. You should not attempt to take advantage of a known error.
3. Event results and settlement
Bets are settled using the result or information considered official under the applicable sport, competition, event or market rules. The source used for settlement may depend on the type of market. A result that appears in news reports, social media, live data or another unofficial source may not be sufficient to settle a bet.
Unless a specific market rule says otherwise, settlement normally takes account of the result recorded at the end of the relevant event or at the officially designated time. Later changes, appeals, protests, disciplinary decisions or amendments will only affect settlement where the applicable rules expressly provide for this. You should read the market description carefully, particularly where the market relates to a particular period, round, session, player, team or stage.
Postponed, abandoned or interrupted events
If an event is postponed, abandoned, interrupted or moved, the outcome will be determined under the rules for that sport or market. Some bets may remain valid if the event is completed within the period or conditions specified by the relevant rules. Other bets may be voided where the required conditions are not met. Bets on outcomes that have already been unconditionally determined may still stand even if the event later fails to finish.
Voided bets
A void bet is treated as cancelled for settlement purposes. The stake for a void bet will generally be returned, subject to the applicable rules and any lawful account adjustment. A single selection in a multiple bet may be removed or treated as void while the remaining selections continue under the rules for that bet type. A bet is not necessarily void just because a price changes, an event is delayed or a result is disputed.
Dead heats, ties and withdrawals
Where two or more competitors share a result, or where a market produces a tie, dead heat or joint placing, settlement will follow the specific rules for that market. This may result in a reduced settlement rather than a full win. Withdrawals, non-runners, replacements and changes to participants may also affect whether a bet remains active, is adjusted or is voided.
Special and derivative markets
Some markets relate to statistics, milestones, player or team performance, rankings, awards or other information rather than the final result. These markets are settled according to their stated definition and the official data source used for that market. For example, a market may specify whether extra time counts, whether a particular period is included, or how an uncompleted performance is treated. The market wording should always be checked before placing a bet.
If settlement information is unavailable, inconsistent or later corrected, the bet may remain pending while the relevant information is reviewed. We may correct a settlement where an official result or a material error is identified. Any correction will be applied to the affected bet or account balance in accordance with the applicable rules.
4. Account conduct, disputes and responsible betting
Fair use and integrity
You must not manipulate markets, coordinate bets with other people, use inside information, interfere with the platform, exploit a technical weakness or engage in conduct that could damage the integrity of an event or betting service. Suspicious activity may be reviewed, and access to an account or unsettled bets may be restricted while checks are carried out.
Where there is evidence of fraud, collusion, identity misuse, prohibited activity, payment abuse or a breach of the applicable terms, action may include refusing a bet, voiding an affected bet, suspending an account, withholding a transaction while legally permitted, or taking another step allowed by the relevant rules. Any action will be considered in accordance with applicable law and the account terms.
Questions and settlement reviews
If you believe a bet has been accepted, settled or displayed incorrectly, review the bet record and the applicable market rules first. Raise the issue through the available support or complaints process, providing the relevant bet reference and a clear explanation. A review may require checks of transaction records, event data, account information and the terms that applied when the bet was placed.
Reviews are handled using the information available for the relevant event and bet. A result shown in your account may be corrected if it does not match the applicable official settlement information or if an error is identified. These rules do not remove any rights or complaint options available to you under applicable Australian law.
Bet responsibly
Betting should be treated as entertainment, not as a way to make money or recover losses. Set a budget before you start, use only money you can afford to lose and keep track of your time and spending. Do not chase losses, borrow money to bet or continue betting to manage stress or other personal difficulties.
- Set personal deposit, spending or time limits where these tools are available.
- Take regular breaks and avoid betting when affected by alcohol, drugs, strong emotions or financial pressure.
- Do not increase your stakes to try to recover previous losses.
- Use account breaks, self-exclusion or other safer gambling tools if betting is no longer enjoyable or is becoming difficult to control.
- Seek independent support if gambling is affecting your finances, relationships, work, study or wellbeing.
- If you are under 18 or are not legally permitted to gamble, do not use the service.
These Betting Rules are intended as general information and may be updated from time to time. The version displayed when a bet is placed, together with the specific market terms and applicable account terms, will generally be used when reviewing that bet. You should check the current rules before placing a wager.
